Riding Motorcycles

2026 Suzuki GSX-S1000
It was time for something with drivers aids (traction control and ABS), a little more low and midrange torque, and more comfortable than my, now 20 year old, Honda CBR 600RR sport bike.
Playing with Technology
Using A.I (Claude) for repetitive tasks that Fable 5.1 can now handle (it is still terrible at Windows Server related issues). A task can take 45 minutes to run, but it saves me 14 hours of work.
Taking pictures with the new Panasonic Lumix L10.
Reading on the go with a new little pocket ereader – Xteink X4 Pro running CrossPoint firmware ❤️.
Spending Time with Family
Parents came for out for a 2 week visit to the island.
I made some decent meals and we made the most of the time given a bit of a set back.
I got them in the sauna and cold plunge for a few rounds.
Makes me think about the “last 7%” of the time we get with our parents by the time we are 18 years old.
Cooking for my Dog
Reading The Forever Dog was the catalyst, and I keep slowly introducing new foods that are good for him.
His diet for the first 2.5 years of his life were various brands of kibble, and he would eat them for a week or two then barely eat, and keeping his weight consistent was a challenge.
Over time I transistioned him to eating primarily whole foods. Now he is never picky about what’s in his bowl, and his weight is very consistent.
He loves baked yams, steamed carrots, steamed green beans, roasted asparagus, roasted spagetti squash, and sautéed mushrooms.
For protein it is usually a few pieces of a beef roast or a filet of salmon – plus some K9 Naturals Salmon & Lamb for a boost when we are more active.
There is always kibble in his other dish, which he might touch every other day, but never finishes the bowl.
I wash his bowls everyday.
It’s a lot more work to cook his food, but I cook enough at once to last a few days. Hearing him crunch down on a carrot as he devours his bowl makes it all worth the effort.
He’s a very happy and healthy dog.
