What’s in my Bag 2026 ๐ŸŽ’

Go Ruck GR1 26L

  • ROBIC version is lighter, more water-resistant, and has MOLLE webbing on the shoulder straps.
  • Interior is light gray, making it easier to spot items inside.
  • Upgraded from the original GR1 that would be abrasive on my shoulders and back (they have since fixed this using 210D CORDURA for those areas).

Peak Design Small Tech Pouch

  • Small pouch for organizing cables, chargers, and anything else.
  • A flat bottom lets it stand up and not tip over.
  • Lightly padded, which adds a bit of extra bulk, but will keep your items safe & secure.

14″ MacBook Pro with M5 Pro

  • Good battery life, good screen in bright environments (but not as vibrant as OLED).
  • The Nanotexture on the screen drastically cuts down on reflections, but it is NOT DURABLE.
  • It’s been over 10 years since I last used Mac, and there are definitely many things I miss from Windows.
  • I was looking at deploying Mac’s when the price of Windows PC’s went up substantially, but now Apple’s prices are up as well.

Panasonic Lumix L10 Compact Point & Shoot

  • This Micro 4/3’s camera is much lighter than carrying around a full frame Sony all the time.
  • 24-75mm Full Frame equavalent fixed Leica lens (f1.7-f2.8).
  • Long battery life.
  • Flippy screen on the back with a view finder.
  • Plenty of buttons to customize.

Kobo Clara Colour

  • 6″ colour screen and USB-C.
  • Lacks Google Drive for syncing, but I just connect a cable to load ePubs and PDF’s.
  • Old Kobo was the 7″ Kobo Libra Colour, but I gave it away as I prefer a more compact eReader.

Travel Router

  • GL.iNet GL-MT3000 WiFi 6 Router.
  • Has a physical switch to engage a VPN connection for all traffic and supports Wireguard, OpenVPN, and VPN providers like NordVPN.
  • Perfect for Hotel Wi-Fi or Cafรฉs.

Anker GaN Prime 100W Charger

  • Charges everything in my bag, all at once.

INIU 25K 100W Power Bank

  • Able to charge anything in my bag.
  • 25K is enough to top up the MacBook, camera, and iPhone.

Moondrop Meteor IEM’s

  • After stopping by Bay Bloor Radio in Toronto to listen to headphones, I ended up buying these.
  • To my ears, they sound absolutely perfect.
  • Pretty cool they are made using slices of a meteorite.
  • Using a iFi GoBlu Air and Sennheiser BTD700 for driving them, but they also sound great off of a Helm Bolt.

Hydro Flask Lightweight 32 oz Water Bottle

  • I’ve bought 21, 24, 32, and 40oz bottles.
  • I think 32 oz is the perfect size for daily carry.
  • This bottle trades weight and insulation time for a more compact size.

Small First Aid Kit

  • Packed with various NexCare Waterproof bandages, blister pads, tweezers, antihistamines, Gravol, gauze, KT tape, Steri-Strips, Sterile wipes, and other small first aid items.
  • I find most bandages that come with pre-made kits are not very good, so I made my own.

Leatherman Wave

  • I’ve actually had this multitool (Wave) for 20 years.
  • It made it’s way back into my bag after I reduced the weight of my daily carry camera.
